Cancellation & Refund Policy

Rider cancellations
The following cancellation rules apply to bookings made on MotoShare. Times are calculated from the booking's scheduled start time.

Stripe processing fees (approximately 1.5-3% of the total) are non-refundable regardless of cancellation timing, as they are costs incurred by our payment processor.
Owner cancellations
If an Owner cancels a confirmed and paid booking:
- The Rider receives a 100% refund (including any Stripe fees; these are absorbed by the Owner).
- MotoShare may issue a warning to the Owner's account.
- Repeated Owner-initiated cancellations may result in reduced listing visibility or account suspension.
Exceptional circumstances
We may grant full or partial refunds outside this policy in cases of:
- Serious illness or injury, with medical documentation.
- Death in the immediate family, with documentation.
- Natural disasters or official travel restrictions affecting the rental location.
- Mechanical issues with the motorcycle that were not disclosed by the Owner.
- The motorcycle materially differing from its listing description.
Requests for exceptional refunds must be made through support@motoshare.io within 14 days of the affected booking, with supporting evidence.
How to cancel
- Log in to your MotoShare account.
- Go to Dashboard → Bookings.
- Find the booking and click "Cancel".
- Confirm the cancellation. You'll see the refund amount before confirming.
Refunds are processed automatically to your original payment method and typically arrive within 5-10 business days, depending on your bank.
Swiss consumer right of withdrawal
Under Swiss law, services booked for a specific date generally do not benefit from a consumer right of withdrawal (e.g. Art. 40a CO applies only to certain distance contracts and doorstep sales). Please read this cancellation policy carefully before booking.
